This website is maintained as an archive About UsNonesuch School was a small, private non-profit located in Western Sonoma County. Since its inception in 1969 Nonesuch provided a stimulating and caring environment for students and families seeking an education that encourages intellectual growth and creativity. With small, seminar-style classes, students were encouraged to think, to question, and to become involved in their own education. Through bi-weekly field trips and extracurricular activities, staff and students grew into a strong community.
Much was demanded of a Nonesuch student. In addition to completing curriculum, each student was required to become involved in community service and participate in cultural events. Students were not only expected to participate in student government, they participated in the actual maintenance of the campus. From pushing brooms to swinging hammers, students learned to take care of the campus, themselves, and each other. Nonesuch School was a community of individuals where the students appreciate each other's strengths and differences. Nonesuch proved over its forty years of educating young people that the individual student is the source of the learning.
